24HRC has signed an MOU with Ocean Reviver, a pioneering team in the $119 million XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition. Their innovative technology tackles global water and mineral shortages by utilizing quantum physics, nanotechnology, and electrochemistry to perform membrane-free, energy-efficient desalination. The California-based deep-tech company is advancing quantum-enhanced desalination and critical mineral recovery technologies to serve USA and Global needs. Led by CEO Amir Vahid, the startup is developing membrane-free, energy-efficient solutions to transform hypersaline brines into clean water while selectively extracting rare earth elements.
Ocean Reviver is a notable competitor in the $119M XPRIZE Water Scarcity Challenge. The company is advancing as a qualifying team for Track B and as a Semifinalist for Track A, winning Round 2 in both Track A (System-Level) and Track B (Materials & Methods) with their unique approach combining quantum physics, electrochemical engineering, and nanotechnology.

Amir Vahid, Ph.D., is the Founder and CEO of Ocean Reviver, a deep-tech company competing in the $119M XPRIZE Water Scarcity challenge. Under his leadership, the company develops quantum-enhanced desalination and mineral recovery technologies, using advanced membrane engineering and electromigration to solve water scarcity while safely extracting valuable resources like lithium from brine. An expert bridging chemistry, molecular modeling, and clean-tech, Dr. Vahid has built a career driving materials discovery and supporting startups across diagnostics and data science. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Akron, with postdoctoral research roots at Notre Dame and Northwestern University.
